Record fine for driver who fled police checkpoint in Çorum
In Çorum, an intoxicated driver who ignored a 'Stop' order from police teams conducting a checkpoint and fled was caught after a pursuit.

According to the information obtained, the driver of the car with license plate 19 UF 861, who was learned to be intoxicated, did not comply with the 'Stop' order of police teams during a surprise checkpoint on Mehmet Akif Ersoy Street and began to flee.
After a short pursuit, the vehicle was caught and stopped on Fatih Street. Police teams imposed an administrative fine of 53 thousand 400 TL on the fleeing driver and revoked his driver's license indefinitely.
While the vehicle involved in the pursuit was towed to a parking lot, the driver was taken to the police station to have his statement taken.
