Özcan, who also faces allegations of "extortion through coercion" and "qualified fraud," will continue to remain in prison.
Following a complaint filed with the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by Ö.Ç., a complainant in the "blackmail" case at the Bolu 6th Criminal Court of First Instance where Özcan is a complainant-defendant, alleging that she was "sexually assaulted by Tanju Özcan," an investigation was launched for the crime of "sexual assault by abusing the influence provided by public duty, guardianship, or service relationship," which resulted in arrest warrants.
The duty magistrate judge reviewing the file had ordered the arrest of Özcan and his driver, S.Ç.
The investigation was initiated after the complainant Ö.Ç. filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend M.E.A., Özcan, Chief of Staff Ö.N.Y., and driver S.Ç. in the "blackmail" case at the Bolu 6th Criminal Court of First Instance.
