WHAT HAPPENED?

In the investigation launched against 6 people, including Prof. Dr. Ayten Erdoğan, who was taken intocustodyby police who arrived at her home on the morning of November 21, 2025, the BakırkThe Chief Public Prosecutor's Officehad issued astatement.In the

statement,it was noted that during the years 2017-2021, while Erdoğan wasserving in herposition,at the Balıklı Greek Hospital, it was stated thatprescriptions were written as ifexaminations had been performed on people whonever went to the hospital, thereby causingfinancial loss to the Social Security Institution,and that they were taken intocustody, with it being determined that the SGK suffered a loss of "112 million" TL through this method.

ErdoWhile Erdoğan's lawyers were unable to obtain information regarding the investigation due to a confidentiality order on the file, a media outlet the next day, with Erdoğan's photograph, published a story with the headline "A professor defrauded the SGK of 112 million liras."

HAD PAIDTHE PENALTY

However, it was revealed that the public loss alleged in the report written by the Social Security Institution (SGK) was 112 thousand liras, not 112 million liras. Moreover, it wasdetermined that Erdoğan had paid the specified loss, along with interest, in 2023 in accordance with the penalty received from the SGK.
