Başarır stated, "We do not need division, nor do we need to be designed by a decision made by a single man through trustees. Come join us, let us continue to walk together like Mr. Müjdat and Mr. Hasan. Let us all put an end to this wrong together."

Following the removal of CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and the appointment of a trustee committee to the provincial presidency, Müjdat Gürbüz has announced his withdrawal from the committee, following former district chair Hasan Babacan. CHP Group Deputy Chair and Mersin MP Ali Mahir Başarır made the following remarks regarding the issue in front of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters:

"We are fighting a struggle for democracy. We are fighting for the future of 86 million people. Do not be a party to this wrong decision by the court. Withdraw from this committee just as our other colleagues have. We do not need division, nor do we need to be designed by a decision made by a single man through trustees.

We need to set out together as a whole, come to power, and save this beautiful country from the oppressors. That is why we still have time.

Regarding the trustees. We have very little time regarding the government. That is why come join us, let us continue to walk together like Mr. Müjdat and Mr. Hasan. Let us all put an end to this wrong together.

"ÖZGÜR ÇELİK IS IN A MEETING"

That seat is occupied. That seat has an owner. The owner of that seat, our dear fellow traveler Özgür Çelik, is currently in a meeting with 39 district chairs. I mean, I wish we could have done something. But we believe in democracy. We believe in law and justice. The Republican People's Party Provincial Presidency is not something that happens with a document printed from a computer or a letter from a Provincial Chair. The Republican People's Party Provincial Presidency happens through district delegates elected by our thousands of members in the neighborhoods, the provincial delegates they elect, and Özgür Çelik, who is elected by those provincial delegates. That is why that seat is occupied.

"THERE IS A USURPATION OF THE YSK'S AUTHORITY"

The YSK (Supreme Election Council) stated the following: Parties decide on their own election processes and conduct them themselves. It said that neither a court nor any other power can prevent this. In other words, our neighborhood elections and district elections are continuing and will continue. We will first elect our delegates, then our district chairs, and then the provincial chair. I find this positive. But there is clearly a usurpation of the YSK's authority. A court has reached out. I was expecting it to make a decision on this matter as well. It did not. Now this decision will go to the appellate court. I am also calling out to the esteemed judges at the appellate court. Clear the way for democracy. Do not do this evil to the country. We want to compete freely. We want to compete equally. That is why I find the YSK's decision partially correct, but negative because it did not intervene in that lawlessness and that trustee decision."
