Three ballistic missiles fired from Iran toward Turkey on March 4, March 9, and March 13 have increased tensions between the two countries. Following the missile attacks in question, the activity observed, particularly around the Incirlik Air Base in Adana, drew attention.
As sirens began to sound on Friday night, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) issued a statement regarding the activity that occurred toward dawn. The MSB reported that the missile sent from Iran was destroyed in the air by NATO forces.
Following the statements, it emerged that the missile threat directed toward Turkey's airspace was not limited to a single incident. It was stated that direct contact was established between Turkish officials and their Iranian counterparts due to the three separate ballistic missile attacks that took place on March 4, 9, and 13.
"THE ATTACKS ARE FROM THE US AND ISRAEL" STATEMENT
Following these developments, Colonel Ibrahim Zulfikari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, made remarkable statements. Zulfikari argued that the missile attacks against some neighboring countries, such as Turkey, Kuwait, and Iraq, were not carried out by Iran. The Iranian official claimed that the US and Israel were behind these attacks.
"OUR WEAPONS WERE STOLEN, ATTACKS WERE ORGANIZED AGAINST NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES"
In an interview with the Fars News Agency, Zulfikari claimed that the US had developed a new system that mimics Iran's Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles. Zulfikari stated that the system, called the "Lucas UAV," was used in attacks against certain targets in the region. "The enemy is mimicking Iran's Shahed-136 UAV and carrying out attacks on unlawful targets in regional countries under the name 'Lucas UAV'," he said.
Zulfikari argued that the purpose of these attacks directed at Iran was to create tension and conflict with neighboring countries. He also pointed out that the developments and attacks in the region were part of the insidious plans of the US and Israel. The Iranian official said that these operations aimed to increase political and military pressure on Iran.
