Regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's absence from the reception at the Headquarters on the anniversary of the CHP's founding, Sarı said, "We would have expected our mayor to attend the event we held on September 9, especially as the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in Ankara."

Müslim Sarı stated that the CHP is ready to hold its congresses and said, "We had planned to prepare our party for the congresses by September. What we planned is proceeding exactly as intended. I would like to announce here that the congress processes have begun as of September 10. As of October 28, we will suspend the member lists in accordance with this calendar. We have set November 11 as the start date for district congress delegate elections. Starting from December 12, that is, after completing our neighborhood congresses, we are starting our district congresses. Our district congresses will also be held in a certain period, at a certain time. After our district congresses are completed, we have scheduled the provincial congresses to begin on January 16. By the time February 14 arrives, all provincial and district congresses of the Republican People's Party will have been completed. The day after February 14, the party assembly will meet to determine the date of the grand assembly (kurultay)."

"I call for a struggle within the CHP"

Stating that their basic assumption while doing all this is that the court decision regarding the CHP has been finalized, Sarı said, "That decision will have been finalized within that period. We have such an expectation. If it is finalized, we will convene the party assembly and hold our grand assembly. As the CHP administration, we consider it a duty to prepare the ground where all my friends who engage in politics within the Republican People's Party can freely compete within the party during this congress calendar period. I am once again calling on my friends who have left the Republican People's Party, gone away, or traveled in another political party out of anger, to join the struggle within the Republican People's Party. It is not too late for anything. They can still come, they can become members of our party. And within this membership process, they can take part in the intellectual and political competition of the Republican People's Party."

"We expected our mayor to attend the event we held on September 9"

Responding to questions from journalists after his statement, Sarı was asked about the statement made by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş following his meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He replied, "A person at the head of the executive branch, the President, according to the current country system, and a Metropolitan Mayor belonging to the Republican People's Party can exchange ideas and convey their demands, especially on issues related to the central government in Ankara. There is no principled problem with this. The fact that it coincides with September 9, I think, created a problem in terms of public opinion. Mansur Yavaş is the mayor of the Republican People's Party. He is a member of the Republican People's Party. We would have expected our mayor to attend the event we held on September 9, especially as the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor in Ankara."
