Republic Day celebrated with enthusiasm and flags in 81 provinces: Concerts, torchlight processions
October 29 Republic Day was celebrated across the country with various events. The enthusiasm in 81 provinces spilled out into the streets and avenues, creating colorful scenes during the celebrations.

In Ankara, concerts were held as part of the October 29 Republic Day celebrations.
The Naval Forces Command Band performed a concert at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Opera Stage. The band, under the direction of Colonel Bülent Yüksel, presented a repertoire consisting of marches.
The Air Forces Command Band's concert at a shopping mall was also followed with interest by citizens.
Artist Ebru Gündeş held a concert at the Atatürk Forest Farm Natural Life Park, hosted by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
THE 101ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC WAS CELEBRATED IN IZMIR
In Izmir, the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic and October 29 Republic Day were celebrated.
At the reception program organized by the Governorship at the Balçova Thermal Hotel, Governor Süleyman Elban and his wife Irem Beyza Elban welcomed the guests and celebrated their holiday.
The program, which began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, featured a video screening on the Republic.
DIYARBAKIR
At a reception held at a hotel in Diyarbakır, Governor Murat Zorluoğlu and his wife Sevcan Zorluoğlu welcomed the guests.
Following a musical performance, Governor Zorluoğlu and protocol members cut a cake.
The program was attended by AK Party Diyarbakır Deputy Mehmet Galip Ensarioğlu, CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu, 7th Corps and Garrison Commander Lieutenant General Gültekin Yaralı, Chief Public Prosecutor Mustafa Çelenk, Dicle University Rector Prof. Dr. Kamuran Eronat, Provincial Police Chief Fatih Kaya, district governors, public institution managers, representatives of non-governmental organizations, families of martyrs, veterans, and athletes.
SIIRT
At a reception held at the Agriculture and Tree Museum in Siirt, Governor Kemal Kızılkaya welcomed the guests along with his wife Nurten Kızılkaya.
In his speech there, Kızılkaya said that the Republic has brought democracy, equality, justice, human rights, and development in every field to the country for 101 years.
Stating that they owe a lot to the Republic, Kızılkaya said, "First of all, we owe our freedom to it. We are filled with the determination and resolve to look to the future with confidence. With the same determination and resolve as 101 years ago, we are looking to the future together today with perseverance and confidence. No matter how much we thank our Lord, it is not enough. Our Republic is also the mortar and guarantor of our unity and solidarity."
Governor Kızılkaya later cut a cake with the children.
BATMAN
At a reception held at the Kristal Park Social Facilities located on the campus of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Batman Regional Directorate, Governor Ekrem Canalp and his wife Ayten Canalp welcomed the guests.
Governor Canalp chatted with the guests and celebrated their holiday.
The program was attended by Garrison Commander Brigadier General Mehmet Ali Koç, Batman University Rector Prof. Dr. İdris Demir, Provincial Police Chief İbrahim Kaba, managers of public institutions, and representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations.
DÜZCE
The Düzce Municipality Band and Mehteran (Janissary) Band took the stage at the event held at the Monument Square in the city center.
Citizens who filled the square with Turkish flags in their hands accompanied the marches played by the band and the mehteran team.
Later, 101 wish balloons were distributed to citizens in honor of the 101st anniversary of the Republic.
Düzce Governor Selçuk Aslan and Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü, who watched the performances, also released wish balloons.
ZONGULDAK
In the torchlight procession that started in front of the train station in Zonguldak, citizens walked to the Governorship service building with Turkish flags and torches in their hands.
Citizens accompanied the marches played by the band.
Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem stated that they were celebrating Republic Day with enthusiasm.
In the Karadeniz Ereğli district, protocol members and citizens gathered in Bağlık Neighborhood and walked to the Atatürk Monument on Devrim Boulevard, accompanied by a band, with Turkish flags and torches in their hands.
The citizens gathered there held a moment of silence and sang the National Anthem.
Karadeniz Ereğli Mayor Halil Posbıyık expressed his satisfaction with the high participation of the citizens.
KARS
The torchlight procession that started in the square in Kars was attended by Governor Ziya Polat, 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Şahin Yenilmez, Kars Mayor Ötüken Senger, soldiers, and provincial protocol.
During the march, which was also accompanied by commandos along Faikbey and Atatürk streets, a 100-meter-long Turkish flag was unfurled.
The torchlight march ended at the foothills of Kars Castle, accompanied by marches.
While a folk dance team performed, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams rappelled down from the castle and unfurled a Turkish flag.
In his speech there, Governor Polat stated that the veteran city was celebrating the holiday with enthusiasm and pride in a manner befitting it, and said, "First of all, I commemorate our Commander-in-Chief Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, our dear martyrs, and our heroic veterans with mercy, gratitude, and respect. We commemorate all our ancestors who made this state, nation, and land our homeland with mercy. The children of this state, this nation, and this land will continue to protect their homeland and soil today, just as they did in the past."
Kars Mayor Senger also celebrated the 101st anniversary of the Republic and thanked the participants.
AĞRI
A torchlight procession was also held in the Hamur district of Ağrı.
District Governor Mehmet Nesip Mahir, Mayor İsmet Aslan, District Director of National Education Mehmet Özmüş, district protocol, and students gathered at the entrance of the district.
The participants marched with Turkish flags and torches.
'REPUBLIC MARCH' HELD WITH TURKISH FLAGS AND TORCHES IN TUNCELI
A march with Turkish flags and torches was organized in Tunceli for the October 29 Republic Day.
Those participating in the event, which was coordinated by the Governorship, gathered in front of the Hüseyin Güntaş Library and Conference Hall.
Citizens then set off from there and walked towards the Tunceli Museum with Turkish flags and torches in their hands. Participants sang marches and chanted slogans from time to time during the march.
CELEBRATIONS IN ADIYAMAN, KAHRAMANMARAŞ, AND MALATYA
Events were organized in Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya for the October 29 Republic Day.
Citizens who gathered in front of the Mimar Sinan Culture Park in Adıyaman walked to Democracy Park with Turkish flags and torches.
The Adıyaman motorcycle group also accompanied the march with their motorcycles.
The torchlight procession was attended by Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and citizens.
The event continued with a concert by Oğuz Aksaç.
MALATYA
In Malatya, a reception was held at the Metropolitan Municipality Wedding Palace as part of the 101st-anniversary celebrations.
Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz stated that the first century of the Republic has been completed and the second century will be built much better.
Yavuz said that they support every success in this country by applauding it.
Following his speech, Yavuz cut a cake with 2nd Army Chief of Staff and Garrison Commander Major General Erman Kiraz and Metropolitan Mayor Sami Er.
The program was attended by İnönü University Rector Prof. Dr. Nusret Akpolat, Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Provincial Police Chief Arif Çankal, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie Colonel Tolunay Başer, representatives of public institutions and organizations, and citizens.
KAHRAMANMARAŞ
In Kahramanmaraş, the 101st anniversary of the Republic was celebrated with a torchlight procession.
For the torchlight procession organized by the District Governorship in the Türkoğlu district, many citizens gathered in front of the government house with Turkish flags in their hands.
After walking to the Nation Square, a moment of silence was held and the National Anthem was sung.
Soup was served to the participants.
The event was attended by Türkoğlu District Governor Mustafa Nevzat Mercan, institution heads, and relevant officials.
