Request for 'arrest' regarding Şenol Aslanoğlu and Tunç Soyer: Embezzlement investigation
Former CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu and former İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who were detained as part of an investigation into "embezzlement" allegations at the İzmir Business People Örnekköy Housing Construction Cooperative, have been referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for "detention pending trial."

İzmir Business People Örnekköy Housing Construction Cooperative, in the investigation launched into "embezzlement" allegations, those detained in the investigation, including former CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu and İzmir MetropolitanMetropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who was also amongthe 11 individuals, are currently undergoing processing at the İzmir Courthouse.
As part of the investigation, Aslanoğlu and the other suspects were taken into custodyduring an operationconducted onDecember 26.
The İzmir Police DepartmentFinancialCrimesInvestigation BranchDirectorateat theheadquartersFollowing the completion of their procedures, Aslanoğlu and other suspects were referred to the courthouse today and, following their prosecutorial testimonies, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for "arrest."
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, in the context of the cooperative investigation, the former İzmir Metropolitan Municipality official, who is currently detained at the İzmir Buca Penal Institution,MetropolitanMayor Tunç Soyer and former İZBETON General Manager Heval Savaş Kaya will have theirstatements taken via the SEGBİSsystem.
Şenol Aslanoğlu was arrested in theongoing cooperative case regardingİZBETON and was released in thehearing held in October under the judicial control measure ofhouse arrest.
