The 'umbrella party' solution in the DEVA Party is bringing consecutive resignations. Following Burak Dalgın, who announced his departure from the party yesterday, Manisa MP Selma Aliye Kavaf has now announced that she has resigned from her party.
Making a statement via her social media account, Kavaf used the following expressions:
"I believed that the DEVA Party, which I am proud to be a founder of and to which I have dedicated myself with great devotion for four years, should continue its path by protecting its own identity and utilizing its own potential.
However, at this point, the party management decided to take part in an umbrella group and umbrella party organization. As a result of this decision taken by the party management, I felt the need to make an assessment on my own behalf.
In order not to harm the umbrella party structuring process, not to cause any speculation, and not to cast a shadow on the ongoing efforts, I deemed it appropriate to leave my resignation decision to this period when the umbrella party efforts have matured. This preference of mine is an indication of my respect for the objective progress of the process.
As of today, I am presenting to the public's information that I have resigned from the DEVA Party. I will continue my political journey outside of the umbrella group and umbrella party structure, in line with the values and goals I believe in.
I would like to thank all my fellow travelers who have contributed to the DEVA Party during this process, and I wish success to everyone who contributes to our country's struggle for democracy.
I would like to share my belief that friendship and the sense of common struggle will always remain.
Sincerely."
