Response from CHP's Başarır to AKP's Tayyar's immunity threat! He opened the FETÖ archive...

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, in his response to former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar who targeted him, stated, "If there is an exemplary character, it is you! You are still trying to hold the political institution hostage today with the tactics of FETÖ, which you praised in 2012 and called your 'only reference point'."

Former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar said on a live broadcast on TGRT Haber that the parliamentary immunity of CHP leader Özgür Özel should be lifted, but that due to concerns about increasing political tension, this step should be taken against CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır instead of Özel.

Threatening CHP deputies with the lifting of their immunity, Tayyar made the following statements:

"If, in terms of timing, the parliament's agenda is not sufficient to handle so many files, it could pick one or two of them with tweezers and take action to set an example for all deputies. One of them is Ali Mahir Başarır. I think he deserves it more than enough.

Actually, one should start with Özgür Özel, but after all, he is the chairman of the CHP, the leader of the main opposition; perhaps this could be considered an overly extreme initiative politically. If so, one could start with his protégé. To teach a lesson to him, whom he sees as his protégé, his friend, and very close to him, one could start with Ali Mahir Başarır."

BAŞARIR OPENED TAYYAR'S FETÖ ARCHIVE

Başarır's response to Tayyar's scandalous call was not delayed.

In a statement on his X account, Başarır shared a clip from a program where Tayyar had previously said to FETÖ ringleader Fethullah Gülen, "My only reference point," and added the following note:

"If there is an exemplary character, it is you!

You are still trying to hold the political institution hostage today with the tactics of FETÖ, which you praised in 2012 and called your 'only reference point'.

Yesterday you applauded FETÖ, today you are conducting politics in the shadow of the same language.

This country no longer falls for those tricks!"
