Response from Resul Emrah Şahan to a citizen complaining about municipal services: 'Unfortunately, I am under arrest, my brother'

Şişli Mayor Şahan, who was arrested as part of the 'City Consensus' (Kent Uzlaşısı) investigation, has made headlines with a response he gave to a citizen on his social media account.

Responding to a citizen who expressed a complaint about trash on the streets and tagged him on social media, he wrote, "You tagged me, but unfortunately I am under arrest, my brother. It is not me managing Şişli, but a trustee."

Stating that he is under arrest and that the municipality is being managed by a trustee, Şahan added, "Unfortunately, I am saddened by this as well."

HE WAS ARRESTED IN THE CITY CONSENSUS INVESTIGATION

Following his arrest on March 19 as part of the "City Consensus" investigation, Resul Emrah Şahan was suspended from his duties, and Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was appointed as a trustee in his place.
