In a statement issued by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated, "An ex officio investigation has been launched by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Türker Ertürk regarding the statements made in video content shared via a social media account."

The statements by Retired Admiral Türker Ertürk that served as the basis for the investigation opened by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are as follows:
"Look, the government will change now. Whether painfully or painlessly, the government will change. Therefore, everyone should come to their senses. You, me... Of course, everyone, everyone. Therefore, we expect the Supreme Election Council to make decisions according to their conscience and the law. Otherwise, I think we will face difficulties as a country in the future."
WHO IS TÜRKER ERTÜRK?
Born in Trabzon in 1957, Türker Ertürk is a graduate of the Naval Academy. Having served in various positions in the Navy, Ertürk was promoted to rear admiral in 2006; he served as the Black Sea Regional Commander between 2006-2008 and as the Naval Academy Commander between 2008-2010.
Ertürk resigned from his post on August 9, 2010. Later engaging in political activities within the CHP, Ertürk left the party in 2014; he rejoined the CHP in 2019.
