Very harsh statement from retired Colonel Orkun Özeller: 'We thought the head of the PKK was Öcalan, but it turns out it was Devlet Bahçeli!'

The expected statement from the terrorist organization PKK regarding the new resolution process, which began with the call from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, has arrived. The PKK, which held a congress in recent days, announced in this published declaration that they have decided to dissolve. 

The statement, which appears right at the beginning of the announcement, "The PKK has emerged on the stage of history as the freedom movement of our people against the policy of Kurdish denial and annihilation, which draws its source from the Treaty of Lausanne and the 1924 Constitution", has sparked controversy. Evaluating the dissolution decision and the statement targeting Lausanne and the 1924 Constitution for 12punto, retired Colonel Orkun Özeller stated, "Like litmus paper, it has revealed who is a patriot and who is a PKK supporter. The statement and the so-called dissolution decision made by the terrorist organization are a deception." 

Speaking about the emphasis on the Treaty of Lausanne and the 1924 Constitution in the PKK's statement, Özeller said, "They are constantly preoccupied with how to undermine Lausanne and how to put Sèvres into effect. We will neither let them undermine Lausanne nor allow them to put Sèvres into effect. The Turkish youth will not allow this." 

Özeller's statements are as follows: 

'THIS GAME THAT HAS BEEN STARTED IS NOT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE'

"The statement and the so-called dissolution decision made by the terrorist organization are a deception. I read it. Let me repeat what I said when I read it. If you read it carefully and look at it from the perspective of the terrorist organization, it says, 'I have been fighting for 50 years but I have not been successful.' There are two main reasons for this. The first is the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), and the second is the local people. The local people did not give them the support they wanted. They dissolved themselves because they could not see the support they expected. The biggest factor behind the end of the PKK is that the local people did not support them. The local people said, 'You do not represent me, your cause is not my cause.' If the people had stood behind them, this process would have concluded in 10 years and the Republic of Turkey would have said, 'You were right, we were wrong,' and the incident would have ended. No power can stand against the will of the people. We will also throw this back at those who started this process today without the knowledge of the people and outside the will of the people. Because this game that has been started is not the will of the people. No matter what power is in front of us, world history has shown that no power can stand against the will of the people. Today, you cannot hold on where you cannot provide the support of the people in a military sense anyway. You cannot be an occupier either. It is impossible. You need the support of the people." 

'WE ARE NOT DEAD YET'

Addressing MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, one of the main actors of the process, with harsh words, Özeller said, "We will fight to the end." Özeller said the following: 

"Today, Devlet Bahçeli is managing the terrorist organization. He told Abdullah Öcalan to make a call. He did that too. He said hold a congress on May 4th. They held the congress right after the date he said. It turns out that it was not Abdullah Öcalan but Devlet Bahçeli who was managing this organization. They are doing what he says. As the Turkish nation, we will wake up. We will show our justified reaction within the framework of constitutional rights. We will put a spoke in the wheel of this process. I state clearly here; we are not dead yet. We will fight to the end." 

'COMMANDERS WHO DO NOT SPEAK ARE UNDER A BURDEN OF CONSCIENCE'

"There are those who have paid a price in this struggle and those who have paid no price at all. Those who do not pay the price are the politicians. They are at the table. I disregard the judgment they will make. It is null and void. Because not a single one of their children has been martyred. They have not seen any of their relatives at a martyr's funeral. They have never shed a tear. Let no one stand up and say to us, 'Don't you want peace?' I am the one paying the price for this. I am calling out to the commanders who paid this price and are silent today; those Mehmetçiks fought against terrorists and went to their deaths under your command. They gave their lives, they gave their arms, their legs. As the commanders of those days, they have an obligation to speak today. This is a duty. This is a command responsibility. Commanders who do not speak about this are under the same burden of conscience as the politicians." 

'YAŞAR GÜLER HAS NO PLACE TO HIDE'

Reacting to Minister of National Defense (MSB) Yaşar Güler, Orkun Özeller used the following expressions: 

"Like litmus paper, it has revealed who is a patriot and who is a PKK supporter. Today, we see that those reporters whose barracks doors you opened at the time are calling the terrorist a guerrilla. In my view, these names have acted as intelligence agents. The TSK opened its doors to these men and closed its doors to us. Where have we come from and where are we now? Yaşar Güler has no place to hide. Yaşar Güler has served as a commander in the TSK. People went to their deaths under his command. He is not saying stop to this process. Okay, I don't expect him to come out and give a statement to the newspapers. But behind closed doors, he has to say stop to this process. Otherwise, history will not forgive him."

'NO ONE SHOULD LOSE HOPE'

Özeller also spoke about the emphasis on Lausanne and the 1924 Constitution in the PKK's text. Özeller continued his words as follows: 

"They are constantly preoccupied with how to undermine Lausanne and how to put Sèvres into effect. We will neither let them undermine Lausanne nor allow them to put Sèvres into effect. The Turkish youth will not allow this. The Turkish youth are coming in such a way. No one should lose hope. Everyone is aware of everything. They will do what the politicians could not do and will also set the politicians straight. These men said peace would come in 2015. Then martyrs came into our arms. Now they are saying the same thing. From this point on, I think the politicians are now acting with ill intent. No one should get their hopes up."
