Retweet crisis in MHP: Semih Yalçın takes a step back following Izzet Ulvi Yönter's resignation

Izzet Ulvi Yönter, MHP Deputy Chairman and Central Executive Committee (MYK) member, announced that he has stepped down from his duties within the party. Yönter's remarks, made in a post shortly before his resignation announcement, sparked controversy: "Agent who infiltrated the MHP, we are watching you from every angle. What do you know about honesty! Don't worry, we will definitely settle scores with you... Your money won't work either, you scheming scoundrel..."

Yönter's message was also reposted by MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın, leading to speculation that the remarks were directed at Eyyup Yıldız, the chief advisor to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.

CLAIMS OF INTRA-PARTY TENSION

Following Yönter's resignation, it was suggested that there is tension between two different factions within the party. During this process, claims emerged that Semih Yalçın supported Yönter and that he himself might resign or be removed from his post.

Semih Yalçın, who had shared Yönter's pre-resignation post on his own account, later removed the content from his page. However, it was observed that other posts expressing support for Yönter remained on Yalçın's account.

Journalist Muhammed Vefa, in his assessment of the matter, stated the following claim: "The situation is this; it is a tweet directed at the person leaking information to Cevheri Güven... It is said that some topics discussed within the MHP were leaked and that this person is someone close to the headquarters."
