Rojin's body has been handed over to her family

The body of Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year preschool teaching student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Education, has been sent to Diyarbakır following autopsy procedures.

21-year-old Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Preschool Teaching Department at the Van YYÜ Faculty of Education, had arrived in Van from Diyarbakır on September 25 after completing her university registration and had settled into her dormitory. On September 27, she left the dormitory to head toward the shores of Lake Van, and no news had been heard from her since that date.

On the 13th day of the search efforts, which lasted for 18 days, a headscarf belonging to Kabaiş was found on the shore of Lake Van. On the 18th day, a body was discovered on the beach in the Mollakasım neighborhood of the Tuşba district. Following examinations, it was determined that the body belonged to Kabaiş.

Kabaiş's body was sent to her hometown of Diyarbakır after autopsy procedures were completed at the Van Forensic Medicine Institute.

Kabaiş's funeral will be held at the Yeniköy Cemetery in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır.
