Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Ebubekir Şahin shared a post on his social media account following the PKK terrorist organization's message regarding laying down arms. In the message he published on the X (Twitter) platform, Şahin stated the following:
"FOR A FUTURE WITHOUT TERROR, TOGETHER AND WITH DETERMINATION!"
"Turkey has conducted an important process against terror with its deep-rooted state wisdom, determination, and all its cadres. We express our gratitude to all our state leaders and security forces, especially our President, MHP Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, and MIT President Mr. İbrahim Kalın, who led this process.
The goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey" is not just a security policy, but also an expression of our shared commitment to our nation's right to live in peace and security. This goal is being implemented step by step with patience, clarity, and an uncompromising stance."
"ALL ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGAL SANCTIONS WILL BE APPLIED"
In the continuation of his message, Şahin said, "In such a sensitive period, our society has united with common sense and a sense of responsibility. However, the attempt by some media outlets to mislead the public with intentional and manipulative broadcasts that have no connection to reality is a clear example of irresponsibility. These broadcasts are a great injustice to the Turkish people who embrace peace. Moreover, they carry the potential to harm our social unity.
The fight against terror is not only the responsibility of security units; it is the shared responsibility of the press, civil society, and all our citizens. Our state will decisively implement all necessary administrative and legal sanctions against content that ignores broadcasting ethics and social responsibility."
"OUR NATION'S CONSCIENCE LISTENS TO THE TRUTH, NOT TO PROVOCATIONS"
At the end of his post, he drew attention with the words, "Our nation's conscience listens to the truth, not to provocations. A broadcasting approach that contributes to peace, security, and social stability deserves every kind of appreciation."
