RTÜK is set to introduce new regulations to enable the oversight of broadcasts on social media platforms such as YouTube.
According to a report by Donanımhaber, RTÜK intends to regulate content on YouTube, and discussions with YouTube have been accelerated in this context. The same report states that preparations for regulations have begun to include all broadcasts on social media platforms, in addition to YouTube, within RTÜK's oversight processes.
With this regulation, it will become mandatory for all content providers broadcasting on social media platforms to comply with RTÜK's rules. RTÜK will have the authority to issue broadcasting bans regarding content on social media. The relevant platforms will also be obligated to implement these decisions made by RTÜK.
VOLE HAD MADE A STATEMENT

Following this incident, RTÜK stated that discussions with "YouTube" were ongoing and that it was expected for social media channels to be subject to RTÜK's oversight processes.
