Russia bans live poultry imports from Turkey! That Eskişehir-based brand is in the spotlight

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in an official announcement dated December 27, 2024, and numbered ?P3-7/6360-3, stated that it has halted live poultry imports from Turkey, citing the rise in bird flu (avian influenza) cases in Turkey's Eskişehir province.

This decision specifically covers the Eskişehir-based company Hastavuk.

Russian authorities emphasized that bird flu cases pose a risk to international trade and that this measure was taken to protect animal health and public health within the country's borders.

The ban completely covers live poultry shipments carried out through the Hastavuk company, and no information was shared regarding the duration of the decision.
