Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov meets with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov paid an official visit to the capital, Pyongyang, to hold official talks in North Korea and to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and North Korea.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov paid an official visit to the capital, Pyongyang, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and North Korea.
During his contacts, Russian Minister Lavrov was received by North Korean leader Kim, and the meeting lasted more than 1 hour.
Lavrov also held a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. During the meeting, current issues regarding the development of bilateral relations, including the calendar of political contacts, were discussed in detail.
The meeting, which particularly focused on the comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia and North Korea and the intensification of interaction in practical areas, emphasized increasing the volume of bilateral trade following the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, where discussions were held regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, mutual determination regarding the political and diplomatic resolution of problems in the region and readiness to make joint efforts to reduce regional tension were confirmed.
Both ministers emphasized their determination to resist the hegemonic ambitions of the USA, which lead to the worsening of the situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
