Saadet Party calls for 'early elections': 'The country does not have a single minute to lose'

Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, and Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu spoke at the New Path group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

Saadet Party Chairman Arıkan said, "Let us face a reality: the current government has been ruling the country for over 20 years, yet it cannot achieve success. However, look where you may, wherever we turn, opposition parties are forced to talk about crises morning and night."

'THE NEED FOR ELECTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY GROWS EVERY DAY'

Arıkan stated, "AK Party officials come out and say, 'It is not an early election, but it could be a moved-up election.' Well, what is the difference? Whatever you call it, it makes no difference to us. If Aleppo is there, the yardstick is here; go ahead, let the early election be today. As the New Path group, we are ready for early elections. The truth can no longer be hidden in this country; there must be an early election. Because the current administration cannot solve the people's problems. So, can an administration that has become this desperate show the courage to go to an early election? They may avoid it, postpone it, or change its name, but we know that the need for elections in this country grows every day. Reflecting the will of the people at the ballot box will be the most correct path. Because this country no longer has even 1 minute to lose. Turkey's real agenda is not the artificial agendas that the government intentionally and deliberately creates; it is the budget deficit of 139 billion TL in the very first month. It is people who withdraw cash from one credit card to pay off the debt of another. It is mothers who buy diapers one by one because they do not have the money to buy a full pack."
