AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was protested during his speech at the opening of the TRT World Forum 2024 due to the failure to sever commercial relations with Israel, and the protesters were subsequently detained.

Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan announced in a statement on his social media account that they would provide legal support to the detained individuals.

'I WOULD BE PLEASED TO HOST YOU AT OUR HEADQUARTERS'

Quoting a post made on social media one day before her detention by a person named Şeyma, who was detained during the protest and had asked whether she would receive legal support if she joined the Saadet Youth Branches, Arıkan made the following statement:

"My dear sister Şeyma; our lawyers have taken action. You do not need to be a member of our youth branches for this. We defend justice not for our party members, but for our 85 million citizens. I would be pleased to host you and our brothers and sisters who were detained at our headquarters."

WHAT HAPPENED?

During Erdoğan's speech, the protesters shouted, "While Zionists continue their activities in our seas and ports... Ships are carrying bombs to Gaza."

Erdoğan told the protesters, "My child, do not be the tongue and mouth of the Zionists. No matter how much you try to provoke this place by being the tongue and mouth of the Zionists, you will not succeed."
