Sacrificial animal escapes owner and climbs onto roof in Konya

In the Kadınhanı district of Konya, a bovine animal prepared for the Eid al-Adha sacrifice escaped from its owner and climbed onto a roof. The moments when the animal fell from the roof and was eventually captured with difficulty were captured second by second on a mobile phone camera.

On the first day of Eid al-Adha, footage of sacrificial animals escaping from their owners, alongside the usual amateur butchers, has begun to emerge.

In the Kadınhanı district of Konya, Ömer Taykaya, who was taking his sacrificial animal out of the barn in the morning, lost his grip on the bovine.

The animal, which Ömer Taykaya tried to retrieve with the help of his relatives, ended up climbing onto the roof of the house. The animal, which resisted its owner for a while, later jumped down from the roof of the adobe house. The animal, which tried to escape again, was calmed down and captured with great difficulty.

The efforts to capture the sacrificial animal and the moment it climbed onto the roof were recorded second by second by another citizen using a mobile phone camera.

The footage shows the animal climbing onto the roof, resisting its owner for a while, falling from the roof, and then being captured by citizens while trying to escape again.

 

 

In the Esertepe neighborhood of Ankara's Yenimahalle district, a sheep prepared for sacrifice suddenly broke free from its owners and began to run away. The sacrificial animal running on the main road was filmed by citizens in the area.

 

 

An interesting incident occurred during a sacrifice in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood of Adana's Sarıçam district. A goat on a roof jumped down to escape and got its horn caught in the electrical wires located right at the edge of the roof. Citizens tried to rescue the sacrificial animal, which had its horn stuck in the wire. After long efforts, Ramazan İmir rescued his neighbor's sacrificial goat from the wires where it was stuck.

Stating that he went outside upon hearing the sounds of his neighbor's sacrificial animal, Ramazan İmir said, "I heard the sound of a goat bleating while I was lying down. I thought maybe the neighbor was slaughtering the sacrifice. When I heard the animal bleating persistently, I went out to the balcony and saw that the animal was hanging from the wire. I immediately climbed onto the neighbor's roof, and it was difficult to remove it because its horn was caught in the wire. Then, I climbed onto a truck and rescued the animal by freeing its horn. We have seen many sacrificial animals escape before. But it was very surprising that the animal jumped from the roof and got hung on the wires."
