Businessman Sadettin Saran has given a statement as part of an illegal betting investigation.
It was reported that Saran's defense was taken regarding allegations that illegal betting advertisements were displayed during a match broadcast through the media group he owns, and that there is no situation involving detention.
Saran, who arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan under police escort, left the courthouse after giving his statement to the Informatics Crimes Investigation Bureau.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a statement regarding reports in some media outlets claiming that Saran had been detained.
The statement included the following: ''The defense of the individual mentioned in an investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was taken on December 26, 2024, regarding allegations that illegal betting advertisements were made during a match broadcast through the media group owned by the individual. There is no situation involving detention. It is announced for the information of the public.''
