A flash development has occurred regarding Şafak Başa, whose suspension period was extended even after the house arrest order was lifted 210 days later.
ŞAFAK BAŞA REINSTATED TO HIS POSITION
According to reports by Çağdaş Bayraktar from Cumhuriyet Newspaper, it has been decided that İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa will be reinstated to his position.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Şafak Başa, who has a background as a Chief Civil Inspector, was detained on April 26, 2025, while serving as the General Manager of İSKİ, as part of operations conducted against the IMM.
Despite having health problems, Başa was held in unfavorable conditions for a long time, and the court issued a house arrest order for him on April 30. In accordance with this decision, Başa remained under house arrest for exactly 210 days.
After Başa's lawyers took the matter to the Constitutional Court (AYM), the house arrest order issued against the İSKİ General Manager was lifted in November 2025.
