Beyaz TV programmer and journalist Tahir Sarıkaya has been detained as part of the "Cem Küçük" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

It was stated that within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that there were large amounts of money with unknown sources entering Sarıkaya's accounts, and it is assessed that a portion of these funds was transferred to crypto accounts.

Following the detention decision, former AKP deputy and journalist Şamil Tayyar made a striking post on his social media account. Tayyar suggested that if Sarıkaya gives a statement, the investigation could lead to new developments in the media sector.

In his post, Tayyar stated, "Tahir Sarıkaya has been detained. If he talks, there will be an earthquake in the media. And it would be for the best."


Tayyar's statement also brought about discussions regarding whether the scope of the investigation will expand.
