Fugitive businessman Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, who is accused of money laundering, stated that he continues his business life in the US and has paid a significant portion of his 135 million dollar debt, adding, "I will soon explain on a live broadcast who planned this incident I experienced and this setup against the opposition, and which former member of parliament, which lawyer, and which journalists are involved in this setup."
Speaking to Saygı Öztürk from Sözcü newspaper, Sezgin Baran Korkmaz argued that many of the allegations against him were products of imagination.
Korkmaz stated that he did not become a whistleblower in the case he is being tried for in the US, saying, "The allegations in my file, which are portrayed as if they are part of the first file that came to the agenda in Turkey, are not true. Furthermore, my file has no political side. This is a normal tax fraud and money laundering file. The trial is open to the public. There is no secret side to it."
"I WILL REVEAL IT WITH DOCUMENTS"
Stating that he will soon make statements via his social media account, Sezgin Baran Korkmaz noted that he would explain who planned the incident he experienced through the opposition, saying, "I will soon explain on a live broadcast who planned this setup against me, and which former member of parliament, which lawyer, and which journalists are involved in this setup.
It will emerge that the incident is not as they described. I will reveal with documents one by one with what money those villas were purchased. No one can hide anything. While I reveal which journalists are part of this dirty plan, I will not act like them. I will state all of their names on live television and offer to appear on a live broadcast together," he said.
