Scandal at clothing store: Security manager secretly watched female employees

It has been revealed that Bahadır C., who worked as a security manager at a famous clothing store in Istanbul, changed the angle of the cameras to watch the area where women changed their clothes.

According to the report by Atakan Irmak from Sabah Newspaper, the incident took place on December 26 at a clothing store located in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. 23-year-old Seda Y., who worked as a security guard at the store, was changing her clothes in an area designated for them due to renovations being carried out at the workplace.

HE TURNED THE CAMERA TOWARD THE CHANGING AREA

On the day of the incident, the young woman arrived at the workplace and went to the upper floor of the establishment to change her clothes. After taking off her clothes and putting on her uniform, Seda Y. noticed that the angle of the security camera in the workplace had been changed to monitor the area where she was undressing. Sharing this situation with her colleagues, the young woman began to examine the past camera footage.

SHE REALIZED SHE WAS BEING RECORDED

Upon her review, Seda Y. realized that the camera had recorded her while she was changing her clothes. When she rewound the footage to the beginning, she discovered that the angle of the camera had been changed by an individual named Bahadır C., who worked as the security manager at the same establishment, and that this act had been captured by the camera itself. Following the shock she experienced, the young woman went to the police station and filed a criminal complaint against the manager who had been spying on her.

HE DID NOT ACCEPT THE ACCUSATIONS

Bahadır C., who was taken into custody, stated in his testimony at the police station that he had changed the angle of the camera in question because of the renovations at the workplace and to ensure that the personal belongings of the architect working there would not go missing, claiming he did not know that staff changed their clothes in that area.

The security manager, who said he did not spy on anyone, did not accept the accusations leveled against him. Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the footage in question was sent to an expert for examination.

3 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT REQUESTED

Following the expert examination, it was reported that the records in question captured the individual named Seda Y. while she was changing her clothes. After the report, the prosecutor's office prepared an indictment against Bahadır C. for the crime of 'Disclosing Images and Sounds Related to Private Life', requesting a prison sentence of up to 3 years. The suspect will appear before a judge at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance in the coming days.
