The incident occurred near the Deliçay Bridge on the Mersin-Tarsus Highway. Mersin Provincial Highway Gendarmerie teams found the van, which had stopped on the side of the road for assistance, suspicious and conducted an inspection of the vehicle. During the checks, kilograms of butchered meat were found inside the vehicle.
As a result of the investigations carried out by the gendarmerie teams, it was determined that the meat had been obtained from a meat and poultry company operating in the Atakent neighborhood of Gaziantep. A report was filed against the 2 individuals found in the van.
