Scandalous Atatürk post from Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal: He first slandered, then deleted the post!

The Kocaeli Mufti's Office decided to have a mawlid recited in the city on November 10, on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the passing of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. However, this decision caused discomfort in some circles. Among the reactions, a social media post by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal, a faculty member at the Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences, stood out.

AHMET UYSAL’S SCANDALOUS POST

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal criticized the Kocaeli Mufti's Office's decision to hold a mawlid for Atatürk in a post on his social media account. Uysal argued that Atatürk had tried to root Islam out of these lands and criticized the Mufti's Office by claiming that "Atatürk was against Islam."

In his post, Uysal used the following expressions: "While Atatürk tried to root Islam out of these lands and was against such religious ceremonies, who is being pleased by having a mawlid recited for Atatürk?"

"IT MIGHT BE DUE TO AN INFERIORITY COMPLEX" 

Ahmet Uysal argued that the mawlid might have been held not "for the sake of Allah," but "due to an inferiority complex." These words were met with great backlash from social media users. At the same time, Uysal portrayed Atatürk, who was the founder of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and had the Quran translated into Turkish, as if he were against such religious ceremonies.

HE DELETED HIS POST AFTER THE BACKLASH

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal's post gathered a great deal of backlash on social media in a short time. Users harshly criticized Uysal's statements, emphasizing the contributions Atatürk made to religious values and the social structure. Following the reactions, Uysal was forced to delete his post.
