Scandalous claim in Hakan Tosun murder investigation

A new scandal has emerged regarding the death of journalist Hakan Tosun. It is alleged that the motorcycle driver who took the attackers to the scene was released after giving a statement as a "witness."

On the evening of October 10 in Esenyurt, Istanbul, journalist, documentarian, and activist Hakan Tosun was attacked by unidentified individuals while on his way to his family's home.

It was revealed that Tosun, who could not be reached for a long time, had been taken to Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital in critical condition.

Despite all medical interventions, Tosun, who was treated in intensive care, lost his life.

MOTORCYCLE DRIVER QUESTIONED AS A 'WITNESS'

Two attackers had previously been arrested in the murder investigation. However, with the emergence of footage showing the motorcycle driver who fled the scene, a new detail has come to light in the case.

According to Halk TV reporter Umut Taştan, the person named Yusuf Ö., who transported the attacker, admitted in his statement that he had taken the attacker to the scene.

Despite this, it is alleged that Yusuf Ö. gave his statement as a "witness" and was released.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department had identified the perpetrators of the attack that took place in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood of Esenyurt on October 11.

Two suspects, identified as A.M. (18) and A.Ş. (24), who were determined to have carried out the attack, were apprehended and referred to the courthouse.
