The 72-story Taş Yapı residence project planned for Istanbul's Şişli district, described by the public as "Şişli's Kanal Istanbul," continues to be the center of controversy.

Opposing the project, the Şişli Municipality had sealed the construction site and halted the process. However, shortly after, all authority regarding the project was transferred to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Following this development, the Taş Yapı firm initiated legal proceedings against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and filed a criminal complaint.

"GANG MEMBER" ACCUSATION AGAINST İMAMOĞLU AND ŞAHAN

The company's owner, Emrullah Turanlı, took his accusations against the IMM to the judiciary following the halting of construction. In his petition, Turanlı claimed that the IMM's actions were contrary to the law.

However, statements from the municipality side indicated that the project contained unlicensed construction and elements inconsistent with urban planning, and that the intervention was carried out for the public interest.

Turanlı's criminal complaint and the testimony he provided have been accepted as evidence in the ongoing investigations.

Taş Yapı owner Emrullah Turanlı made highly controversial statements regarding the Şişli Mayor, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

According to a report on HalkTV, Turanlı, while appearing on a television program, characterized the official fine imposed on the project as "bribery" and accused "Ekrem İmamoğlu, the IMM deputy mayors, and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan of being 'gang members'."
