Schools in Malatya, Amasya, Bingöl, Elazığ, Kırşehir, Kayseri, and Ordu have been closed for 1 day due to heavy snowfall.

SCHOOLS CLOSED FOR 1 DAY IN MALATYA

Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz announced that education has been suspended for 1 day due to snowfall.

In a post on his social media account X, Yavuz stated, "Dear students, according to meteorological data, the current snowfall is expected to increase further in the morning hours. For this reason, it has been decided to suspend education and training across our province for one day on Thursday, February 13. Additionally, our employees with disabilities and pregnant personnel will be considered on administrative leave."

1-DAY SUSPENSION OF EDUCATION IN AMASYA

In Amasya, bused education has been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 13, due to adverse weather conditions.

Following the snow and heavy rain affecting the entire province, a new measure was taken due to adverse weather conditions and the risk of icing.

In a statement made by the Amasya Governor's Office, it was stated, "Due to adverse weather conditions and the risk of icing, education has been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 13 (tomorrow) for our students who benefit from the bused education service throughout our province. Educational activities will continue for all our students who do not use the bused education system."

BİNGÖL GOVERNOR'S OFFICE: EDUCATION SUSPENDED FOR 1 DAY

Education has also been suspended for 1 day in Bingöl and Elazığ due to snowfall.

In a statement made by the Bingöl Governor's Office, it was said, "According to the forecasts of the 13th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, heavy snowfall is expected throughout our province of Bingöl starting from the early hours of Thursday, 13.02.2025. In order to take precautions against potential adverse weather conditions, heavy snowfall, icing, and dangers that may occur in transportation; education and training have been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in all kinds of official and private schools and private education institutions in the center and all districts of Bingöl. Our public employees with disabilities and pregnant personnel will also be considered on administrative leave on the same day."

Education has been suspended for 1 day in Kayseri due to snowfall and adverse weather conditions.

In a statement made by the Kayseri Governor's Office, it was stated, "According to the data received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy snowfall and icing are expected in Kayseri on Thursday, February 13. In order to prevent potential negativities that may occur due to weather conditions; by the decision of our Governor's Office, education has been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in all official and private nurseries, kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational training centers, public education institutions, maturation institutes, private teaching courses, and special education and rehabilitation centers throughout the province, taking into account bused education and the mobility of public employees and students between the city center and the districts. On the day when education is suspended in schools; female personnel whose children attend nursery, kindergarten, and primary school (the situation of personnel working in health, security, and units providing 24-hour service will be evaluated by the relevant unit supervisors as a requirement of the service), and public employees who are disabled, have severe chronic illnesses, or are pregnant will be considered on administrative leave. Respectfully announced to the public."

ELAZIĞ

Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu stated in a post on his social media account, "According to meteorological data, the current snowfall is expected to increase further in the morning hours. For this reason, it has been decided to suspend education and training across our province for one day on Thursday, February 13. Please do not neglect to read books and study your lessons. Additionally, our employees with disabilities and pregnant personnel will be considered on administrative leave."

SCHOOLS CLOSED TOMORROW IN KIRŞEHİR

Schools have been closed tomorrow in Kırşehir due to expected heavy snowfall.

In a statement made by the Kırşehir Governor's Office, it was announced that education in schools across the province has been suspended for one day due to heavy snowfall expected to start at night according to meteorological data. The statement said, "According to meteorological data, we are declaring Thursday, February 13, 2025, a holiday due to the heavy snowfall expected to start in our province at night. We hope that the snowfall will bring abundance to our Kırşehir, which is struggling in terms of water resources, and we look forward to seeing you all in your classrooms on Friday."

1-DAY SUSPENSION OF EDUCATION IN ORDU AKKUŞ

The Ordu Governor's Office announced that education has been partially suspended for 1 day in the Akkuş district due to heavy snow and icing.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that education and training have been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in all other official and private educational institutions in the district, except for Borsa İstanbul Boarding Secondary School, Kargı Ferhat Akbulat Primary and Secondary School, Damyeri Primary and Secondary School, and Yeşilgüneycik Primary School.

The statement also mentioned that public officials with disabilities and pregnant public officials in the Akkuş district will be considered on administrative leave on the same day.
