SCT rate and fixed tax amount on cigarettes and cigars increased
By Presidential Decree, the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) rate on cigarettes and cigars has been increased to 53.5 percent, and the fixed tax amount has been raised to 7,800 TL.

With a new decree signed by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, a price hike has been implemented on the SCT and fixed tax amounts for tobacco, tobacco-substitute cigars, cigarillos, and cigarettes.
Accordingly, for cigarettes containing tobacco, cigars and cigarettes made from tobacco substitutes, other manufactured tobacco and substances used as tobacco substitutes; homogenized or reconstituted tobacco; tobacco extracts and essences, snuff, and chewing tobacco, the SCT rate has become 53.5 percent, and the fixed tax amount has become 7,800 TL.
The decision has entered into force.
