Scuffle breaks out at faculty, professor wounded by gunfire
A professor at Necmettin Erbakan University's Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Theology in Konya was wounded by gunfire during a scuffle.

The incident occurred in the evening hours at the Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Theology of Necmettin Erbakan University, located in the central Meram district. According to information obtained, a scuffle broke out between faculty member Prof. Dr. T.U. and faculty member G.A. and his brother I.A.
During the scuffle, I.A. wounded faculty member Prof. Dr. T.U. in the leg with a handgun he was carrying. While the suspect fled the scene after the incident, medical and police teams were dispatched to the faculty upon notification. Prof. Dr. T.U., who was wounded in the leg, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention by medical teams.
It was learned that T.U., who was taken under treatment at the hospital, is in good condition. While police teams conducted an investigation at the scene, they launched an operation to apprehend the suspect. It was alleged that there was a prior dispute between the wounded faculty member T.U. and the other faculty member G.A.
"THERE IS NO LIFE-THREATENING DANGER"
In a press statement issued by Necmettin Erbakan University following the incident, it was stated, "In the unfortunate incident that took place at the Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Theology on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 17:30, faculty member T.U. was wounded in a scuffle that broke out between Theology Faculty member T.U. and faculty member G.A. and his brother I.A.
The faculty member T.U., who was wounded in the incident, was taken to the hospital and placed under treatment.
The wounded faculty member is not in life-threatening danger. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the matter."
