Search efforts continue for missing student in Van
Search efforts are continuing for Rojin Kabaiş, who went missing after telling her friends she was going to the beach to collect pebbles.

Search operations are underway for Kabaiş, a student in the Child Development Department at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), who has not been heard from since she told her friends on Friday evening that she was going to the beach to collect pebbles.
Teams from the Coast Guard Van Lake Group Command, the Provincial Police Department's Seamen and Navigation Services Bureau and Underwater Group Command, as well as AFAD and Metropolitan Municipality divers, have intensified search efforts along the university's beach on Lake Van.
"Frogmen" who arrived in the area, along with underwater imaging devices and boats, conducted operations to locate Kabaiş both in the depths of the lake and along the shoreline.
A mounted police unit also patrolled along the beach and joined the search efforts being conducted in the surrounding residential areas.
Van YYÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Şevli arrived at the area where the search operations are being conducted to receive information about the progress.
Kabaiş's family and relatives continue their wait in the area, where medical teams are standing by.
Her father, Nizamettin Kabaiş, told reporters that the search efforts are continuing with the participation of many teams.
Thanking the teams, father Kabaiş stated the following:
"We have no enmity with anyone. The child has not argued with anyone. She has no problems with her brother or her mother. She came here happily and willingly. We took a video when we dropped her off here. We said goodbye, we parted smiling. The last time she spoke with her mother was via video call. They spoke on the day she went missing, as she was leaving for a meal. She told her mother she was going to buy coffee from the market. Their conversation lasted 11 minutes. Her mother asked our daughter, 'Have you gotten used to your school?' Our daughter said she had adjusted and was having a good time. Her belongings were found near the beach. She had her phone, headphones, and water. I beg everyone, if anyone has seen her, please let us know. She is not just my child, she is everyone's child. I hope we find her."
