Searched for 2 days: First trace of architect Ece Gürel!

Search efforts launched in the Belgrade Forest to find landscape architect Ece Gürel, who went missing in Istanbul, are continuing. 

36-YEAR-OLD ECE GÜREL IS MISSING

According to the information received, search efforts are ongoing following a missing person report filed by the relatives of Ece Gürel (36), who left her home in Kağıthane's Gültepe neighborhood on Sunday, March 2, stating that she was going to the Belgrade Forest.

Police, AFAD, AKUT, and search and rescue teams from the Ümraniye and Sarıyer municipalities are participating in the efforts concentrated in the Belgrade Forest. 

Relatives of Ece Gürel, who is understood to be a landscape architect, are also following the search operations.

Ece Gürel's husband, Sezer Gürel, stated in his remarks to journalists that his wife left the house at 11:30 AM, saying, "Her family called around 2:30 PM because they couldn't reach her. I called around 3:00 PM; it rings but isn't answered. Her phone wasn't answered until 6:00 PM. She had told her mother she was going to the forest to get some fresh air. I said I would stay home. She sent a photo from there to a friend in England via social media, and they were talking," he said.

SHE HAD PROBLEMS AT WORK

Emphasizing that his wife was a graduate of the Faculty of Forestry and knew the Belgrade Forest, Gürel said, "I tried to search for a round before the friends arrived. Searches are being conducted with K9 dogs. There was an issue related to her workplace during the time of the last snowfall. She was working at a law firm. Resignation was on the table," he said.
