Striking details continue to emerge in the case of former branch manager Seçil Erzan, who faces a demand for 226 years in prison for allegedly defrauding many people from the worlds of football and business with the promise of high returns.
İsmail Saymaz from Sözcü stated that the final page of the indictment mentions separate investigation files being conducted regarding certain suspects, and shared the claim that an investigation into usury is being carried out against Semih Kaya and 11 others.
'SEMİH KAYA FORCED MONEY ON ME'
The relevant section in Saymaz's article is as follows:
"The allegation is that…
An investigation into usury is being conducted against 11 people, including former footballer Semih Kaya and his manager Fırat Özdemir. In her statement, Erzan explains that she paid 5,700,000 dollars to Semih Kaya, from whom she had received 3,200,000 dollars, saying, 'Despite this, I could not get him off my back.'
Erzan:
'Kaya said, ‘You have to pay this money. I will get it from you no matter what.’ I took the extra money I paid to Kaya from Emre Belözoğlu and Arda Turan. I took money from them with the promise of a fund and paid the two of them to get rid of Kaya and Özdemir.'
Claiming that Kaya forced money on her, Erzan continues:
'I received 300,000 dollars from Kaya with the promise of a fund. The 2,900,000 dollars I received later relates to interest. Kaya forced money on me. Özdemir entered the business knowing it was interest money. Even though I told Özdemir many times that there was no such fund, he said, 'Do whatever you have to do, pay me the money. I have made my future plans. Semih has retired from football. We won't leave this money with you.'"
Erzan:
'I paid the 300,000 dollars I received from Semih. I also paid the subsequent 3,200,000 dollars. Even though he had no remaining claims regarding the principal, he came to my house many times and took money by force through threats. He bought the villa in Bodrum with this money. Özdemir paid 500,000 dollars for the villa with the money he obtained from me. His brother Fazıl bought a luxury car. Semih bought vehicles with the money he received from me. I would go to Özdemir's office every 2-3 days and beg for hours. I wanted to get him off my back, but they did not listen to me.'"
ALLEGED ASSAULT ON SEÇİL ERZAN
Journalist Fatih Altaylı had claimed that Semih Kaya assaulted Seçil Erzan in order to get his money.
Stating that Semih Kaya received more than the money he provided, Altaylı said the following;
“It is unclear what Fatih Terim's role is, his son-in-law is involved; we also know that Semih Kaya roughed up and beat Seçil Erzan…
We have started talking about other footballers. As far as I can see in the case file I read, there are assaults; some footballers, like Semih Kaya, who had no remaining claims, beat Seçil Erzan, there are very complicated matters.
For example, we know that Semih Kaya received more than what he gave. And we know, as far as we have heard, that he roughed up and beat Seçil Erzan. We know that another footballer also received more than the money he gave, Ayhan Akman; the former footballer.”
