Seçil Erzan-style case in Konya: 'My financial situation had deteriorated. I started embezzling money on March 25'

The site of the latest Seçil Erzan-style case is now Konya. P.Y., who worked at a private bank, embezzled 37 million 157 thousand 105 TL.

While it emerged that P.Y. had sent a portion of the money to her fiancé, she stated, "I also lost this money through the leveraged transactions I made."

BANK LAWYERS FILED A COMPLAINT

Lawyers for a private bank in Konya went to the Ereğli District Police Department and filed a complaint, stating that P.Y., an employee at their branch, had embezzled 37 million 157 thousand 105 TL over a 3-month period and had confessed to the act.

Following this, P.Y. and her fiancé S.A., who is alleged to have received a portion of the money, were taken into custody.

Both suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before.

"I SENT THE MONEY VIA EFT TO THE ACCOUNTS OF 25 DIFFERENT CUSTOMERS"

According to the report by Tolga Yanık from Sabah, P.Y. explained the incident to bank inspectors one by one. P.Y. said, "My financial situation had deteriorated. I started embezzling money on March 25. I sent the money via EFT to the accounts of 25 different customers I knew.

Later, by directing them, I transferred the money to my own accounts and those of S.A. I invested 20 million 700 thousand TL of the money into cryptocurrency.

I lost this money through the leveraged transactions I made.

I directed 11 million 200 thousand TL of the money to S.A.'s account.

I had debts to third parties. I paid off these debts with 1 million 500 thousand TL of the money," she said.

FREQUENT VACATIONS WITH HER FIANCÉ

It was also alleged that the banker and her fiancé frequently went on vacation and stayed in luxury hotels.
