New details have emerged in the fraud case, which includes many famous athletes among the complainants. Seçil Erzan’s activities on the day she was taken into custody have been included in the investigation file through reports documented one by one.
HER HOME IN GÖKTÜRK WAS SEARCHED FIRST
According to these reports, a detention order was issued for Seçil Erzan as part of the investigation launched following complaints filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on April 7, 2023. First, they went to Seçil Erzan’s home address in Göktürk, Eyüpsultan. Unable to find anyone at the house, the police opened the door with a locksmith and entered. Finding no significant documents or evidence during the search inside, the police obtained information that Erzan was staying at an address in Çorlu.
SEÇİL ERZAN WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON THE EVENING OF APRIL 10
Police teams, who went to the identified address in Çorlu on the evening of April 10, rang the doorbell. Seçil Erzan opened the door. According to the records, the time was 23:15. Erzan was taken into custody following the procedures conducted there.
“WHO SHOULD WE CALL”
The police asked Seçil Erzan, who had been taken into custody, “You are being taken into custody. Is there a relative or anyone else you would like us to notify?” Seçil Erzan requested that lawyer Kazım Erkut Güzel be notified. Upon this, the police called lawyer Kazım Erkut Güzel and informed him that Seçil Erzan had been taken into custody.
URGENT SEARCH ORDER ISSUED
After completing the custody procedures, the police wanted to search the house. However, since there was no search warrant, the situation was reported to the prosecutor's office. The Public Prosecutor's Office
immediately "issued an order to conduct a search under the scope of cases where delay is deemed prejudicial due to the possibility of evidence being tampered with." Following this order from the prosecutor's office, the police began searching the house around 01:00. Meanwhile, correspondence took place between the Çorlu and Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Offices to formalize the search warrant. In the initial information received, there was a delay in the official correspondence for the search warrant because the house number for Seçil Erzan's address was missing. However, this delay did not prevent the police officers from searching the house. The reason was that the prosecutor's office had issued an urgent search order verbally.
WHO VISITED HER IN PRISON
The records of who visited Seçil Erzan, who was arrested and sent to prison, during her first month have been included in the investigation file. One day after Seçil Erzan was arrested, on April 12, 2023, her first visitor was lawyer Kazım Erkut Güzel.. On the same day, another lawyer, Mehmet Tunç, was also recorded in the file as having visited her.
LIST OF LAWYERS
The number of lawyers who visited Erzan within a one-month period is also noteworthy. According to prison turnstile records, the person who visited Erzan the most was lawyer Nazlı Nadide Karaaslan.
Karaaslan visited Erzan a total of 20 times within that one-month period. Other visitors included lawyer Mehmet Tunç four times, lawyer Fatih Arslan four times, lawyer Elif Özer twice, and lawyers Cesim Parlak, Yıldız Şahin, and Necdet Kaplan, who each visited Erzan once.
TWO PEOPLE FROM HER FRIENDS
The name of Nurettin Aytekin, the chief clerk of the Bakırköy 23rd Notary Public, also appeared among those who visited Erzan. Aside from lawyers, two people came to visit Seçil Erzan. One of them was Nilgün Arabacı and the other was Rabia Çağlar Arabacı. According to prison records, these two individuals were registered as friends of Seçil Erzan. It was revealed that Nilgün Arabacı and Rabia Çağlar Arabacı were also at Erzan's house on the night she was taken into custody. It had been requested that Nilgün Arabacı, who was identified as one of Erzan's relatives, be brought to the next hearing by force.
Yıldız Şahin, Necdet Kaplan, Nilgün Arabacı, and Rabia Çağlar Arabacı also visited her once each.
