Dilek İmamoğlu's brother, Ali Kaya, had been arrested as part of a "prostitution" and "drug investigation," and the results of his initial drug test, conducted using blood and urine samples, had returned negative.
Kaya had not been released on the grounds that further testing would be performed on hair and nail samples.
According to reports by Halk TV, the results of the tests conducted on the hair and nail samples have also returned negative. The Council of Forensic Medicine has sent the results to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
