The Dilan-Engin Polat couple, who have remained at the center of Turkey's agenda, were arrested in recent days.
According to the report by Ferit Zengin in Milliyet, the allegations in the letter were formed by a person who became a secret witness and benefited from effective remorse in the Polat investigation.
Accordingly, the secret witness, who claims to have been a former finance manager for illegal betting barons, alleges that Engin Polat laundered money with Derkan Başer, a partner of illegal betting baron Veysel Şahin.
"MONEY IS DELIVERED TO A FOREIGN EXCHANGE COMPANY"
It is alleged that money from illegal betting played via credit cards on the internet was collected in the accounts of Engin Polat's shell companies using the “mail order” method, and that this money was later delivered to a foreign exchange company in Bakırköy.
TRNC, MONTENEGRO, GEORGIA TRIANGLE
It is stated that after the illegal betting money reached a certain limit, it was taken to a venue in Florya belonging to Veysel Şahin's brother, Murat Şahin. According to the secret witness's allegations, the money was then distributed within the triangle of the TRNC, Montenegro, and Georgia. It is further alleged that the money was then laundered by transferring it between Polat's shell companies.
DILAN POLAT WAS THE ADVERTISING FACE
According to the information obtained, companies “in liquidation” that had no employees registered with the Social Security Institution (SGK) were used for the “money laundering crime.” One of these was Rise and Shine Kozmetik İthalat İhracat Sanayi Ticaret Ve Anonim Şirketi, for which Dilan Polat was the “advertising face.” It was determined that the owner of the company, where Engin Polat's uncle's wife was shown as the “authorized person,” was Dipomed Medikal, which belongs to Engin Polat's father, Sezgin Polat.
