Security Council issues statement on 'mass graves'!

The United Nations Security Council has issued a statement regarding the mass graves in Gaza. The Council announced that they are deeply concerned about the mass graves and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

In a written statement released by the UNSC, it was stated that "Security Council members expressed their deep concern over reports of the discovery of mass graves in and around the Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals in Gaza, where hundreds of bodies, including women, children, and the elderly, were buried."

The statement emphasized that UNSC members underscored the necessity of accountability for violations of international law and stressed that unhindered access to all mass grave sites in Gaza must be granted for investigations.

The statement, which called for an urgent, independent, detailed, comprehensive, transparent, and impartial investigation into the mass graves, also highlighted the importance of allowing families to know the fate of their missing relatives in accordance with international humanitarian law for all parties.

The Media Office of the government in Gaza announced on May 8 that the number of mass graves found in hospitals raided by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip had risen to 7, and that the bodies of at least 520 Palestinians had been recovered from these mass graves.
