Journalist Talat Atilla claimed that organized crime leader Sedat Peker would return to Turkey within two months.
“According to the information I have received, Peker will be brought to Turkey within 2 months,” Atilla said, adding in his column that an NGO president told him that Peker was looking for a house in Istanbul.
Following this claim, a response came from Sedat Peker.
In a statement to Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, Peker noted the following:
“Even though the accuracy of many of the issues I have described is being proven by recent operations, I have no intention of returning to Turkey for the time being, even though I would very much like to. The family life I have in Abu Dhabi has been good for my mental state. Furthermore, I do not intend to return before completing my university studies. I cannot understand the reason why such news is emerging. The three years we spent living full of tension have exhausted both my children and my family. I do not see any need for a new adventure.”
