Seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür shared a post on his social media account following the magnitude 4 earthquake in Malatya. Regarding the earthquake, he stated, "This fault is within the EAF system." In response to a social media user's question about whether there was a similar relocation warning for İznik, Görür said, "Actually, there is not much difference between them, but they must be made earthquake-resistant as soon as possible."

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4 occurred yesterday at 15:41, with its epicenter in the Kale district of Malatya. Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made assessments regarding the earthquake on his social media account.
Pointing out that the earthquake was within the East Anatolian Fault (EAF) system, Görür said, "The earthquake is on a small, curved fault parallel to the EAF."
Görür noted the following in his post:
"A magnitude 4 earthquake in Kale, Malatya. The earthquake is on a small, curved fault parallel to the EAF. Of course, this fault is also within the EAF system, get well soon."

The earthquake expert responded as follows to a social media user's question, "You had mentioned the relocation of Gemlik on the Geyve-İznik-Gemlik line, which is on the NAF. Is the same problem valid for İznik?":
