Selvi breaks silence on Ali Koç: 'This warning is for you'

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi targeted Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç in his column on January 5, titled "They opened the operation season as the election approaches." In a statement released by the club, Selvi was reminded of his past remarks where he told FETÖ ringleader Gülen to "come back." Most recently, Ali Koç criticized Selvi with harsh words during a television program he attended. 

Abdulkadir Selvi wrote a column sharing his impressions from the launch meeting where Murat Kurum was announced as the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate. 

Selvi claimed that Erdoğan's warning regarding the Super Cup organization in Saudi Arabia was directed at Ali Koç. 

The relevant section of Selvi's column is as follows:

"The Super Cup match to be played in Saudi Arabia was postponed due to Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç's insistence on taking the field with Atatürk t-shirts. Following this, Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu blamed President Erdoğan. Erdoğan issued a warning about provocation ahead of the local elections. As I always say, we have entered the election process, and operations have begun. Erdoğan warned, 'It is our duty to show those who attempt to perform surgery on our homeland, every inch of which is watered with sweat and blood, that the field is not empty and that our nation is tightly clinging to its independence and future. There is no bread for you in Riyadh. Painting t-shirts in a different way will not gain you anything.'
