Hürriyet newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi stated that the dialogue established by CHP leader Özgür Özel with President and AKP Chairman Tayyip Erdoğan has led to a softening of the political climate, noting that "it has disturbed Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Ekrem İmamoğlu, and Mansur Yavaş, who have their own agendas regarding the CHP. While Kılıçdaroğlu made a sharp statement, raising the flag by saying 'One does not negotiate with the Palace, one struggles against it,' Ekrem İmamoğlu also took action to sabotage the Erdoğan-Özel meeting to be held tomorrow."
"STEEL CORE"
Pointing to the remarks made by Ekrem İmamoğlu in an interview with CNN International targeting Erdoğan, where he said, "The reason for what has happened to me in the last 2 years is the authoritarian regime. Yes, Erdoğan is of course the head of the regime," Selvi stated, "Ekrem İmamoğlu and Gökhan Günaydın made reciprocal moves to sabotage the Erdoğan-Özel meeting, but Özgür Özel did not take a step back, showing that he is a 'steel core'."
