Sentences requested for journalists at Halk TV in expert witness investigation revealed

The sentences requested for journalists at Halk TV have been revealed in the investigation launched after Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu disclosed the identity of expert witness S.B. regarding the lawsuits filed against him.

Prison sentences ranging from 4 to 9 years were requested for Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş, who has been in prison for 19 days, as well as for Serhan Asker and Seda Selek.

Prison sentences ranging from 6 to 14 years were also requested for Barış Pehlivan and Kürşad Oğuz.

For İmamoğlu, a prison sentence of 2 to 4 years and a political ban were requested on charges of "Attempting to Influence a Judicial Officer, Expert Witness, or Witness."
