An armed attack was carried out on a vehicle waiting in traffic in Istanbul's Şişli district. The incident occurred on Büyükdere Street in the Zincirlikuyu neighborhood, in the direction of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge.
According to information obtained, the gray Skoda vehicle with license plate 34 MPG 499, driven by Serdar Öktem, was showered with bullets by individuals whose identities have not yet been determined while it was in motion. As a result of the attack, numerous bullets struck the vehicle.
The injured driver was taken to Florence Nightingale Hospital by medical teams called to the scene. During investigations conducted in the area, numerous 7.62 millimeter and 9x19 millimeter shell casings belonging to AK-47 type weapons were found.
It was learned that after the attack, the suspects fled the scene in a black Cupra vehicle with license plate 34 KVJ 726. Law enforcement units have launched an operation to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

STATEMENT FROM THE ISTANBUL CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE: 6 PEOPLE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Within the scope of the investigation conducted regarding the incident in which the individual named Serdar Öktem passed away as a result of an armed attack carried out in the Zincirlikuyu neighborhood of our province's Şişli district on 6/10/2025 (today);
A total of 6 (six) suspects have been apprehended, including 5 (five) suspects understood to have carried out the incident based on witness statements at the scene and camera footage identification efforts, as well as one suspect determined to have helped the perpetrators escape after the incident. Two of the suspects are under the age of 18. The individuals who carried out the incident were apprehended in the vicinity of the Arnavutköy district, where they had fled after the event. During search and scanning activities conducted by security forces at the location where they were caught, the weapons used in the incident (a total of four weapons, including two Kalashnikovs and two pistols) as well as items such as ski masks and gloves were seized. Detailed examinations are continuing both at the scene of the incident and in the area where the weapons were seized. According to initial determinations, it is assessed that the act was carried out as a result of a grudge held by an organized crime group against the victim. The investigation into the incident will continue to be deepened in all its dimensions by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, including the search for instigators and the determination of whether an organized crime group was used as a subcontractor in the incident.
