Severe rain and storm warning: Snow and downpours take effect
The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a warning for downpours and sleet across the country. Temperatures are expected to drop by 6 to 10 degrees, and citizens are advised to be cautious against strong winds and the risk of avalanches.

According to the latest statement from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, a large part of Turkey will be under the influence of downpours starting today. Except for the Mediterranean, Thrace, Van, and Hakkari regions, rain and sleet at higher altitudes are expected in many parts of the country.
TEMPERATURE DROP BELOW SEASONAL NORMALS
According to the assessments, while air temperatures across the country are currently hovering around seasonal normals, temperatures in the western parts are expected to drop by 6 to 10 degrees. This sudden drop in temperature may negatively affect daily life.
NORTHEASTERLY WINDS IN NORTHERN AEGEAN AND MARMARA
Strong northeasterly winds (poyraz) will be effective in the Marmara and Northern Aegean regions. The wind is expected to blow from the northeast, with speeds predicted to reach 40-60 km/h in some places. This situation may lead to disruptions in transportation and other negative incidents such as roofs being blown off.
In the southern and inland parts of the country, thunderstorms will be effective. Additionally, sleet may be seen in the higher inland parts of the Western Black Sea region after the evening hours.
Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the eastern part of the Marmara region, the Western and Central Black Sea regions, and the surroundings of Yozgat, Tunceli, and Bingöl. Citizens in these regions have been advised to be cautious against negative events such as floods, water accumulation, and lightning strikes.
STRONG WINDS
The Meteorological Service stated that the wind is expected to blow strongly from the northeast, especially in the Marmara and Northern Aegean, and from the southwest in the east of Central Anatolia and the west of Eastern Anatolia. These winds may cause disruptions, particularly in transportation.
AVALANCHE DANGER WARNING
There is a risk of avalanches and snowmelt in the high-altitude areas of the inner Eastern Black Sea region and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, particularly on slopes with snow cover. It was emphasized that caution should be exercised in these regions.
