Sexually transmitted disease found in women caught in prostitution operation

In a prostitution operation conducted in Tekirdağ, 34 foreign women and 6 suspects were apprehended. Health checks revealed that 2 of the women were carrying a sexually transmitted disease.

The Tekirdağ Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted an operation against 3 businesses operating in the Marmaraereğlisi district, within the scope of crimes involving encouraging and mediating prostitution, and providing a place and means for it.

In the simultaneous operation carried out, 6 out of 9 suspects involved in encouraging, mediating, and providing a place for prostitution were apprehended.

Four of the suspects were arrested by the judicial authorities to whom they were referred and were delivered to the Tekirdağ Closed Penal Execution Institution. Two suspects were released under judicial control conditions. The search for the other fugitive suspects continues.

DISEASE DETECTED

The 34 foreign national women involved in the incidents were handed over to the Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.

During the health check, it was determined that 2 of the women were carrying a sexually transmitted disease.

During the searches conducted at the businesses, 1 pistol, 3 pistol cartridges, 7 mobile phones, 1 hard drive, 2 grams of cannabis, 3 narcotic pills, 3 liters of illicit alcohol, a large amount of money obtained from crime, and sexually explicit materials were seized.

Additionally, administrative proceedings were initiated against the businesses for failure to report identities, smoking in indoor areas, and other offenses.
